Louis Lei Jin, DAOM, Doctor of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine
Oncology support, men's health, mental & emotional, neurological & autoimmune
Dr. Louis Lei Jin (DAOM, L.Ac., Dipl. AHM/NCBAHM) is a fourth-generation acupuncturist and herbalist practicing in the Houston, Texas area. He began his training in the early 1990s under his father, Professor Jin Guanyuan, and three renowned masters of Chinese medicine, inheriting a complete system of acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, qigong, cupping, and gua sha. He earned his NCBAHM board certification and Wisconsin license in 2006 and has practiced independently ever since, later completing a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) and advanced lineage programs in classical Chinese medicine under noted teachers in women's health, neurology, and oncology. Dr. Jin holds leadership roles across the profession: Standing Director (USA) of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS), Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the International Institute of Systems Medicine (USA), Chair of the Social Media Committee and senior dry-needling/trigger-point advisor for the American Society of Acupuncturists (ASA), a member of the national board's AI committee, and a board member of the Texas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (TAAOM). He is a member of the Society for Integrative Oncology and a past President and Board Chair of the Wisconsin Society of Acupuncturists. Guided by the principle of "half a day in practice, half a day in study," Dr. Jin blends Daoist, Confucian, Buddhist, and medical traditions of inner cultivation with modern systems medicine. He has co-authored and translated some 30 academic papers and several books, including Clinical Acupuncture Reflexology and The Art and Science of Acupuncture, and developed his own Acu-Reflex Point Acupuncture approach, integrating reflex-point and ear acupuncture, anti-inflammatory needling, tui na, taiji, and qigong. He has taught medical taiji and qigong in the community for over two decades and works to expand insurance coverage for acupuncture. His clinical focus includes oncology support, men's health, mental and emotional health, and neurological and allergic/autoimmune conditions.
